Residents of the Central Region are currently in a state of shock and mourning after a terrible and heartbreaking accident happened hours ago on the Elmina to Takoradi Highway.
The speeding Sprinter bus with registration number WR-2186-17 heading to the Western Region from the Central Region reportedly lost control over the brake pads of the vehicle and nearly collided with an opposite direction moving private car which veered off it’s lane to avoid a head-on collision in front of Karick Hotel opposite Ahomka FM on the Elmina to Takoradi Highway.
According to reports from bystanders, the Sprinter bus was carrying bags of onions and other food items with passengers puported to be traders who trade in onions and other food items trasporting the items.
The bus which sommersaulted took the intervention of bypassers to rescue the entrapped accident victims and we’re transported to a nearby medical facility for healthcare.
The severly injured accident victims were transported in vehicles as a result of the National Ambulance Service and Police Service not coming to the scene to assist with emergency care.
