The popular Makola market in Accra has been gutted by fire Monday morning.
It is unclear what caused the fire that has swept through several stores destroying goods worth several thousands of cedis.
Bellows of thick smoke could be seen in the air as firefighters are having a very difficult time dousing the raging inferno.
