Bridge Constructed A Year Ago Being Washed Away

A bridge constructed a year ago near Partners May hotel on Ministries to Erecdecs road in Koforidua is being washed away by erosion.

The bridge scour is happening due to failure by the contractor to create embarkment for the bridge.

The situation is expected to worsen and lead to bridge failure due to the onset of rains as the fast-moving water around a bridge continues to remove sediment from around the bridge foundation, leaving behind scour holes.

This is seriously compromising the bridge’s integrity and washing away parts of the road.

Unfortunately, the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has not called the contractor to order to fix the problem despite concerns by commuters.
