Robber who was taken to church by his sister for deliverance robs church members

An ex-convict and robber who was taken to an all night service by his sister for deliverance pulled off his old habit again.

The 34-year-old suspect, Oyemachi Maduabuchi once reportedly escaped from the Owerri Correctional Centre in Imo State, after the jailbreak that occurred on April 5, 2021.

Maduabuchi, who has been standing trial since 2009 for conspiracy, armed robbery and arson, was rearrested for allegedly stealing SIM card at a night vigil in Ijesha area of Lagos.

It was gathered that after the suspect escaped from prison, he ran to his village, Fegge in Onitsha, Anambra State, to meet his mother who later linked him up with his elder sister, Amarachi Maduabuchi, who lives in Lagos.

The command’s spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Tuesday, June 1, said the sister took him to a night vigil for special deliverance service.

“After the night vigil on 20th April, 2021, at Bride Assembly Church, Ijesha Area of Lagos State, the suspect allegedly stole the sim and the memory cards of a member (name withheld) of the church before he was eventually arrested and the stolen items recovered from him.

The suspect has confessed to the crime while the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspect should be handed over to the Nigerian Correctional Service for further investigation and necessary action,” the statement reads.
