Ghanaians have access to electricity than South Africans and others – World Economic Forum

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), more Ghanaians have access to electricity than South Africans.

84.3% of Ghanaians have access to electricity as compared to 84.2% of South Africans. Here are the top 10 African countries in terms of Electricity Access:

1. Mauritius(100%)
2. Tunisia (100%)
3. Egypt (99.8%)
4. Algeria (99.1%)
5. Morocco(99%)
6. Seychelles (99%)
7. Cape Verde (96.1%)
8. Gabon (90.7%)
9. Ghana (84.3%)
10. South Africa (84.2%),

The giant ship you see below are Power Barges, there are two permanently stationed off the coast of Ghana. The two barges supply the country with 450 megawatts of power.
Ghana has huge unused electricity, only half of what is generated is used. The country’s installed capacity of electricity is 5,083 MW, whiles the peak demand is 2,700 MW.
Meanwhile, 84.3% of the country have access to electricity
