Controversial Ghanaian prophet Kofi Oduro has declared that all non-virigins who get married in Ghana do no deserve an expensive bride price.
Oduro believes such ladies are worth only Ghc 200!
He made his comments during a sermon.
According to him, a lady who has kept her s*xual purity intact deserves to have a hefty bride price placed on her.
He said for a virgin the family can ask for a piece of land, for a generator, laptop or whatever they want because such a lady is worthy.
However, if the lady is not a virgin, specifically if she’s been used many times to the extent that her breasts have ‘fallen down’ at a young age, she deserves only Ghc200 as a bride price.
The entire sermon is to reinforce the idea that people should not have s*x before marriage, although as is usual with religion all the expectation is placed on women – the so-called ‘lesser s*x’.
What about the man? If he’s not a virgin how is he punished?
Besides who’s going to check if a lady is a virgin? Some people have naturally ‘fallen’ breasts.
