A Mona monkey at the Kumasi Zoological Gardens has given birth to a baby male primate through a Caesarian Section.
This is because the Mona monkey had difficulty in normal delivery due to its very narrow birth canal.
The first time mother and baby monkey are currently recuperating and doing well at the Kumasi Zoo nursery.
The Caesarian Section was performed by Dr. Meyir Y. Ziekah, a veterinary doctor and a Manager of the Kumasi Zoo.
