Military Officer Crashes A Cyclist To Death In Eastern Region

A military man(soldier) has unfortunate knocked down a cyclist and killed him instantly. The incident happened at Somanya in the Eastern Regiona around 11:45 pm.

W.O II Teye Stephen Kwame (43 years) is the name of the military man in this unfortunate incident. He works at the “49 Engineer Regiment at the Accra Burma Camp”. He was driving a Toyota Matrix Salon from Somanya, heading to Accra, with registration number ‘GT 490 14’

It was late in the night so he accidentally crushed man called Alphonso Duatto, on a cycle, with him dying on the spot. This alerted the police to rush to the scene, finding the victim in a pool of blood. The body was sent to Atua Government Hospital for autopsy.

The Eastern Regional Police Commander Sargent, Francis Gomado, said the army personnel was held to assist investigations. As at now he has been delivered to his army unit but his car is being kept at the police station.
