Armed men shoot, kill bullion coP at Sefwi Wiawso

Two armed men on Tuesday, 3 December 2019 shot and killed a police officer accompanying a bullion van in Sefwi Wiawso, Western Region.

The armed men fired at the empty van as it manoeuvred a rough patch of the road around 11 a.m.

The police guard sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Also, the driver of the van sustained minor injuries.

The police command says it will not make the identity of the killed officer public until his family has been duly informed of his passing.

Meanwhile, a few suspects have been arrested and are in the custody of the police over the crime.
